Choosing the perfect eyeshadow

To really enhance your eyes, to make them look more alluring, bigger, brighter and the whites appear whiter, then choose eyeshadow colours that fall opposite to your iris colour on the colour wheel, as opposed to colours that are the same or similar colour as your eyes or colours that match your clothes.

The opposite of blue is orange/golds/browns

The opposite of green is lilac/burgundy/pinks

The opposite of brown is aqua/blues/greens

Using complementary colours provides the most contrast between your iris colour and your shadow colour, therefore it’s this contrast that enhances your eyes.

Hazel Eyes are multiple colours so choose the same recommendations as for brown eyes using the colour wheel concept to contrast differing colour flecks in your eyes to highlight.

Aside from complementary colours, everyone needs a brown, taupe and neutral shades palette too, This also includes brown eyes, which can use browns, just need to stay away from muddy browns. Eye & Brow Palette with matte shades for both eyes and brows.

Application Tips

1. Always apply eyeshadow from outer towards inner, not the other way around, for a professional and uplifting look to your eyeshadow application. When you apply from inner to outer you end up with colour dragging your eye downwards.
2. When you’re applying your deepest colour to the crease, always keep your eyes open to ensure correct placement of the colour.

Why is compressing and hydrating prior to cleansing recommended?

We recommend Compress & Hydration prior to cleansing:

1. Pour a little Dr. Hauschka Bath Essence into your basin.
2. Disperse with hand hot water.
3. Immerse your Compress Cloth, squeeze out excess water and press onto your skin, repeat twice.
4. Remember to take a moment to deeply smell the aromatics from whichever Bath Essence you’re using.
5. Cleanse.
6. Always complete cleansing process with a cool compress or cold water splashes.

Use: Compress and hydrate skin. Mix 1-2 cm of Cleansing Cream with warm water in the palms to form a smooth, creamy paste. Press mixture gently onto skin then roll hands up and away in a wave-like motion – ‘press and roll’. Start in the centre of the forehead then slowly work outward and down. Avoid the eye area. Repeat the press and roll action 2-3 times. Do not rub or scrub. Rinse with warm water then finish with a splash of cool, fresh water to close pores.

Note: You may wish to do a secondary cleanse in the evening with Cleansing Cream as well.

How do you know what’s really authentic natural and organic skin care?

The NATRUE standard distinguishes between:

Statement on Animal Testing

Dr. Hauschka Skin Care and Make-up are manufactured at WALA Heilmittel GmbH. WALA Heilmittel’s experience of using natural substances to provide natural care through the biodynamic cultivation of medicinal plants extends back to 1935. The responsible and sustainable development of our products is something that has been at the core of Dr. Hauschka Cosmetics ever since the beginning, back in 1967. Naturally, this means that no animal tests have ever been carried out either by or on behalf of Dr. Hauschka since our founding in 1967.

While Dr. Hauschka has always foregone animal testing, the EU Cosmetics Regulation represented a decisive step forward for animal welfare in the entire cosmetics industry: As a result, tests on animals for cosmetic products and the raw materials required to create them have been completely banned in the EU since 11 March 2013. This is a legally binding ban, i.e. all cosmetics manufacturers within the EU must comply with this legislation.
